a couple years after completing her degree in politics, marloes thought she had checked all the right boxes in life. good grades in high school, landed an internship at the dutch embassy, studied abroad, went backpacking, co-founded a start-up and eventually started her dream job. her life looked promising on the outside yet on the inside she felt miserable. at age 25 she was burnt-out, depressed, anxious and completely lost.
she knew she had to make a change and take back control of her life. while she built herself up from the inside, she gravitated towards illustrating and writing. as a child she loved journaling and now, many years later, she found herself writing poetry and essays. her debut poetry collection, waves come and go (expected december 2018), reflects her personal journey with the mental health challenges she faced.
